Privacy at names.dev.

We collect the minimum data needed to generate, score, share, and respond to naming workflows. We do not sell private prompts or contact details.

Product ideas

Prompts are used to generate names, scores, reports, and related identity artifacts. In v1 they are stored in application memory unless persisted through a paid or admin workflow.

Contact details

Sprint orders, listing offers, and seller claims collect only the contact information needed to respond to the request.

Decision rooms

Voting uses an anonymous cookie so one browser can toggle one vote per candidate.

AI providers

When an AI API key is configured, prompts may be sent to the configured model provider for naming and brand-kit generation.

Demand signals

Private prompts are not sold. Aggregated demand signals may be used to improve NameGraph, and private workspace telemetry can be disabled where configured.

Graph contribution

Saved names, watchlists, and MCP activity can contribute anonymized category signals. Sensitive raw project briefs should stay private unless the user chooses to share them.
